Queens Green Canopy ‘tree of trees’

Special recognition of The Therapy Garden as we receive a ‘tree of trees’

Late last year The Therapy Garden was presented with a very special tree from The Queens’s Green Canopy ‘Tree of Trees’ in recognition and thanks for the valuable work we undertake for the benefit of our local community.

The silver birch tree, one of 300 native British trees that formed the Platinum Jubilee sculpture outside Buckingham Palace in June last year to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, was planted by the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, Michael More-Molineux, in a ceremony in honour and loving memory of Her Majesty.

In front of staff, volunteers, trustees, clients and representatives from the local community, The Therapy Garden Manager, Penny Walters, thanked the Lord Lieutenant and said how deeply honored the Garden was to be one of only eight recipients in Surrey of such an important tree. 

Penny went on to say “We embrace the original sculpture’s symbolism of hope, regeneration and optimism, and will cherish and nurture it and all that it stands for”
