Garden Pastimes

The Therapy Garden offers social and therapeutic horticulture to Alzheimer’s and Dementia clients. The beneficial qualities of gardening are widely recognised as a way to improve overall health and well-being. Attendees can take part in gardening activities and light physical exercise in a supportive and peaceful environment. All with the aim to aid cognitive stimulation and social interaction through opportunities for accomplishment, recollection and enjoyment.

Clients are referred from Alzheimer’s or Dementia charities, GP or self referral.  All clients must be accompanied for the whole session by a partner or buddy.

Chatting to people who are carers like me is lovely, because dementia can be so isolating. I feel at home here. I would thoroughly recommend it – everyone is so kind. It’s so peaceful away from the outside world.
