The ‘Cultivating Skills’ project offers social and therapeutic horticulture to adults with a range of physical disabilities and additional needs. Adults with mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety are also offered therapeutic horticulture, which promotes well being through active engagement. Attendees take part in growing, harvesting and maintaining the gardens, alongside cooking with produce grown in the garden and garden related craft activities. Clients work in small groups with experienced horticulturists and volunteers and enjoy activities at their own pace, in a peaceful and supportive environment.
