The Therapy Garden offers social and therapeutic horticulture to Alzheimer’s and Dementia clients. The beneficial qualities of gardening are widely recognised as a way to improve overall health and well-being. Attendees can take part in gardening activities and light physical exercise in a supportive and peaceful environment. All with the aim to aid cognitive stimulation and social interaction through opportunities for accomplishment, recollection and enjoyment.
The group, led by horticulturists, meet on the first Wednesday of the month throughout the year. Clients are referred from Alzheimer’s or Dementia charities, GP or self referral. Support workers and carers are welcome to attend to join in the activities.
